Welcoming the new year with a happy smile!!

Happy Friday people!! Its Friday, my favorite day of the week with the anticipation of a fabulous weekend ahead :)

Its all the more special because today is the last day of this year ending on the note of a promising new year ahead. How could I let go of this opportunity to thank the people who made this year so special and wonderful for me. This was the year I started this blog without knowing I would be meeting such wonderful people and learn so many new things including the art of giving and sharing. This was the year I stepped into a new...beautiful  phase of my life..I got married to a wonderful person. This was the year I said good-bye to my two and a half year employer and this was the year I got operated upon. This was the year which was so eventful that it will always remain in my memories.

In the year to come, I look forward to creating beautiful things, learning and sharing...I look forward to finding a new job that suits my needs and skills..I look forward to stay healthy …

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!

Merry Merry Christmas to all my wonderful friends, readers and visitors. 2010 has been a tremendous year for me basically for the fact that I got married and stepped into a new phase of life :) . I had a bittersweet year with ups and downs but sailed through it with all the love, support, good wishes and encouragement I get from the people I know.

I look forward to a better year with lot of good things and happiness.

I would probably see you in the new year now and might also have some surprises. So keep watching this space. Until then, stay healthy, eat good and keep smiling :)

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!

I am here :)

Hello to the wonderful people out there!! Hope you all are having a good time and getting ready for the festive season.

I am back on my feet now after the surgery and feeling better. I have been advised a lot of exercise and avoiding stressful knee postures like climbing stairs and dancing for next 3 months *sigh*.

I will still be away from my crafting place as I am still at my Mom's place recuperating and eating lots of good food :)  So there will be a delay in posting all the Christmas cards that I have made for all my sweet friends. Keep patience :D

Anyways, I thought since I dont have any new crafty stuff to share, I would share an old one for Amy's Flashback Friday 6.0  where Yvonne has asked to share a card which includes unexpected find from home.

I had used some beautiful fruit and vegetable wrapping in the card and it looked so beautiful.
Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Flashback Friday 5.0 and a bit about me!!

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you are all well and already in the festive mood for Christmas and New Year!! I am still on vacation at my mum's place and enjoying every bit of it but I am also missing the blog land at the same time so decided to pop in with a bit about myself. Hope you wont get bored and will bear with me :)

The news about me is that although I came for a good vacation, I got a knee injury and will have to be operated sometime next week. The fact is that nobody in my home has been in the OT before and I am damn scared :(
Hope it goes well!!

Since I will be missing from blog land for some more time now, I will leave you with my entry for Amy's Flashback Friday 5.0 which is to share a card using a new technique.

This is the card I posted right when I started my blog in February this year. I tried two new techniques, first was the background I created using acrylic with my fingers and the second was the paper flower with heart punch.

It will quite some time before …

Winter Holidays!!

hey peeps, how is your week going? I have been busy lately as I am going for a little vacation to visit my in-laws and my parents. This is my first trip after marriage and I am mighty excited :)

Since winters is almost here with chilly nights almost all around the world so I thought I will leave you with a winter card with lots of snowflakes :D

This is one ambitious project of mine because I decided to hand stitch all those snowflakes *gasp* ..I know..ambitious right??  And it took me a whole day to complete it *phew* but I love it :)
Here is a close up

I used a May Arts plaid ribbon (which is without a doubt gorgeous) to tie a double bow and some rhinestones to complete the snowflakes. I am putting this up Wee Memories #33 - Bowtiful  Ribbon , Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge#31 - Bow and Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Let is Snow.

*Edited* I am also putting this one for Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger- It's Snowing Gingerbread (Thanks for letting me know Tejal)

Hope you like it!!…

New Year Wishes!!

I know thats a wonky title but I have started with my new year cards already :)

Today I am playing with Embellish Magazine Color Challenge - holiday and Wee Memories#32 - Put a little pink

And here is another CAS card (If you are wondering why I am creating so much CAS these days, reason is the beautiful textured colored card stock I got. I love to flaunt it :D )

I used a free digi from Paper Garden and colored it using water color pencils. The center of the flowers has a little glitter on them but I couldn't capture it in the picture.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Happiness to you!!

Thats what I wish for all the people who have stood by me and supported me for all I have ventured into :D

Here is a card I made using the Get Sketchy#64 sketch and PDCC#56 colors.

I loved the colors at PDCC this time and couldn't resist using them. The flower is hand drawn and I embellished it with a yummy Jenni Bowling vintage button.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Giveaway Winner!!

Happy Friday!! As you all know I love Fridays and its a good one today as it is time to announce the giveaway winner. So here it is

Congratulations #3 Anita, its you!! Send me an email with your address and I will send out your package soon.

I will be back with a card later today. Keep watching!!

Another Christmas card!!

Hello everybody!! I have another Christmas card to share today with you which I created for the Hero Arts November Challenge of using an inking technique. It also qualifies for FTTC93, and Polly Craft Challenge70 - Glittery X'mas.

I used the liquid pearls on canvas paper to create the shimmery background and then while the background was still wet, stamped the Hero Arts Christmas tree for the subtle effect. I then went crazy doing hand stitching on the branches of the tree :D
Here is a closer look at the tree

Ain't it pretty? The orange card stock is also stamped with tiny stars in orange pigment ink though it isn't visible in the picture.
Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Happy news and candy update!!

Happy Wednesday, we are already half way through the week and weekend will here soon. Hope you are enjoying the week.

I have some happy news to share today. I made it to Wee Memories Fabulous 4 and Card Pattern Super 6 with this card. I am so excited :D

Here is a updated picture of the candy which closes on 19 Nov. I added some tags and embellishments from Gauche Alchemy Mixed Media kit, felt pieces from Creative Impressions, satin flowers and one pack of self adhesive embellishment. You don't wanna miss it. Enter here.

I will be back with a card soon.

Thanks for visiting!!

Merry Christmas!!

I know its too early to wish but I have a Christmas card to share today and that justifies the post title :D.

I am playing today for Roree's challenge to create a Christmas card using 5 or more butterflies..one heck of a challenge if you ask me... I had a hard time playing this one :D

Here is what I created

I used the butterflies to create a Christmas wreath...and did I use 5 butterflies?...mmmm...I went crazy and used 8 :D. The sentiment is a Hero Arts Clear stamp.

Here is the inside of the card

Hope you liked it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Birthday Wishes!!

Happy Friday everybody, the best day of the week is here :)

Today I am sharing a simple, cute card I made for Wee Memories Birthday Bash, E.A.D Color challenge and Card Pattern sketch#89

I did a bit of stitching...alright...a lot of stitching :D and made the flowers using a tutorial link that Emily shared a while back. Although that tutorial was to make complete, full flowers but as always I screwed up the steps and ended up making half flowers :D but they still kinda look cute...isn't it?

P.S. Don't forget to enter my little giveaway. It is open till 19th Nov.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Thanks for everything!!

Hope you people are having a great day today and the week is going by swiftly. I had a very crafty evening yesterday and along with the CAS Christmas card I shared, I made another card inspired by the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger and S2G's TT81 - Thanks.
Here is the inspirational picture at Moxie Fab

And here is my interpretation

What do you think?? Because I am so much in love with this one. I did the vase sketch with charcoal pencils...a lot of task, technique and effort and I am so proud of this one :)

I hope you like it as much as I do!! Thanks for visiting!!

A Quick Post!!

**This is my second post for the day. Scroll down for the first one.**

A very quick post to share a very quick card I made for OLW27 at Susan's blog which is to make a Christmas card for a good cause.

The cards we make and send to Rhonda will go to the North Dakota State Penitentiary in Bismarck, North Dakota. It is a 600+ men's prison for 18 year olds on up, with many in their 30s and 40s. The majority of them have wives, children, parents. A few of them only get a visit once a year from family so cards are a nice way to keep in touch. Even those who get more visits enjoy sharing a holiday card with their family. With 600+ guys, any Christmas cards we can send would be very much appreciated!

I just wanted to participate for the good cause, so here is my quick CAS card.

I used the ribbon technique shared by Susan here. Santa's face is hand drawn and I used a hobby idea rub-on for the sentiment.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

A Milestone!!

As I start writing my 100th post today, I really feel like I have achieved a milestone because when I started blogging I never thought I will come this far so soon. Thanks to all the wonderful people who have supported me  throughout this journey. I hope I will continue contributing and sharing for a long time to come, making wonderful friends along the way.

Since its my 100th post, instead of sharing a card I am sharing a home decor project I have been working on for the past 2 days.

This is an acrylic painting done on a 35cm X 45cm canvas board. This is yet to be framed. I am thinking of a broad black frame for this. What do you think?

The photograph isn't too great because the weather in Pune is all cloudy and rainy but I still hope you will like it because I do :).

And last but not the least, thanks to Tejal, Spardha and Lucy for their beautiful cards that arrived in my happy mail.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

P.S. I have a Mini Giveaway running till 17 Nov. Don'…

Diwali Wishes and a Mini Giveaway!!

Hello everybody!! I know I have been MIA for sometime but Diwali cleaning and shopping doesn't leave much time to craft!! Anyways I hope to be back in action soon. Tomorrow we are celebrating Diwali in India and I want to wish all the lovely people out there a very happy, warm and sparkling Diwali!!

Onto the crafty share for today, I have a card I made for CASE Study Challenge #13

Here is close of the flowers and sentiment

I like it!! I hope you like it too!!
Now happy news, its Diwali and I am about to reach 100 posts on my blog so I thought to celebrate with a little giveaway. I am giving away a smARTwork stamp worth $4.50 and will also throw in a few other goodies as soon as my order arrives from Two Peas in a bucket.
Entering the giveaway is easy peasy : 1. Become a follower. 2. Spread the word (Link it to your side bar) 3. Add your name to Mr. Linky (Leave me a comment if you have problems using Mr. Linky)
I am keeping it open for 2 weeks and will draw a winner on 19 Nov.

Make a wish!!

Hey look weekend is here and as always I am happy, happy. So I will share a card which is not really my style but still I like it :)
Why it is not my style? Well, first of all it is CAS, then it is pink, without embellishments and above all it is masculine :D I hope you get the idea.

Nothing much to explain about this one. I used the flourishes stamp from the Kids Play Set, layered with white and raised it using foam dots for dimension.
I am covering a number of challenges I came across with this one.
SmidaPaper - Pink Masculine Card
ColorQ - Pink, White, Black
FTTC90 - No buttons & bows

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Diwali Cards continued...

Happy weekend to all the wonderful people out there!! Hope you are having a good time. Today I am again sharing some Diwali cards with you all. I will start with more of the paper pleated candles for Moxie Fab World - Perfectly Placed Pleats Challenge.

As I said in my last post I experimented a lot with pleated candles. Hope now you have a better idea about what I meant :D

Next card is for Smita's Challenge at Yvonne's Blog - Ribbon technique & No Stamping. Since I am making Diwali cards with candles on them these days, I thought I will give a try to something new. And here it is

See, I made candles with ribbon stitching and hand drew the candle flames and the sentiment. I picked the colors from DieCutDreams#70 - Orange and Pink for this one. What do you say? You Likey?

Last but not the least, I am re-posting my first Christmas Card for Amy's Flashback Friday 4.0

I started my blog this year in February and this is the first Christmas card I posted on 18 September.
Wow, fo…

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

I know I w…

WISH !!

Popping in to share a card I made today (Actually I made 6 :D, will share in the next post ). Iused the Card Pattern Sketch#86 and the colors from ColorQ for this one. This one is a bit out of my style as you might have noticed but I enjoyed making it. I made and used accordion flowers (not the best looking though) for the first time for Sherryann Eckblad's Challenge at Yvonne blog. This card also fits the current FTTC89 - focus on the sentiment.

A bit of hand stitching, distressing, a pin wheel bow and accordion flowers.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Wishes !!

Hope you all had a good day!! I had a lot of crafting time today and mine was a day well spent :D

I wanted to share a card I made today for a number of challenges. I am playing Get Sketchy#60 , Color Cue {9}, FTTC88 - Ink and Edge distressing, and Wild Orchid #8 - Pastels.

Here is my card

I love the pastel colors and the sketch went perfectly with this one. I have distressed the edges and then inked them with pink ink. Sentiment is a flourishes stamp from Kids Play set.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Little One!!

Hello people!! Hope you all had a beautiful weekend and I am so sad that its coming to an end. I thought to share a card I made for the Embellish Magazine Felt Challenge and Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge - Celebrating Good Times.

Here is my little card

I am still in CAS mood :D. I used a cute felt lion and pink gemstones on this one.

I would also like to share the RAK I received from Lucy. I am so overwhelmed with her sweet gesture. She asked me to do a bit of crafting shopping for her and as a token of thanks she has send me such beautiful things.

Did you notice that little note she had put in the card? It says "May all the thoughtful things you do for others be returned to you tenfold." Now, how sweet is that?

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Clean and Simple!!

I did it again :D. I am finally making some CAS cards and I like them. I have been always amazed at people making CAS cards and feeling I will never be able to do it. But now I am learning and trying to give it a shot.

This time I picked the colors from Curtain Call Color Challenge(ACT 51)  and Crazy 4 Challenges C4C58 theme birthday and whipped up this card.

A Jenni Bowling Butterfly, flourishes sentiment, some twine and a button was all I needed to finish this one.
I am putting this up for Annabelle Stamps Blog challenge "Say it with...No DP" and CCCB week26 - Take Flight.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Butterflies!!

Hello people!! Hope you are good!! I am going through those days when you feel sooo bored that you don't want to do anything and I really mean it *sigh*. The story is that I was bored of work so I took a break and now when I am on break, I am bored of it too. And in this process of getting bored I discovered or more appropriately re-discovered....That we humans will always be unsatisfied no matter what we get :D
So after all the cribbing, I would like to share a card I made for Mojo Monday #159 using the colors of PDCC50.

I stamped the smART butterfly rubber stamp with orange pigment ink. Then I cut one out and raised it using foam dots. Distressed the edges and added some faux stitching.
Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Make a wish!!

Hope your weekend is going smooth!! Just a quick post to share a card I made today. And I am playing the CASE Study Challenge #8 inspired by a fabulous card from Mariana Grigsby. I took the colors from TSG75 and the sketch from VSWCMD2.

Here is my card

I colored the image using water colors, added a tulle bow and "Make a wish" sentiment from Flourishes set-Kids Play . I am also playing along the Party Time Tuesday - Anything goes Birthday Challenge#15 and Stamp Something - Something to Celebrate Challenge.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!
