A week in cards - Day 2 + a video tutorial!!

This is the day 2 of A Week In Cards blog hop. If you aren't aware of it, scroll down to the post below.

For my second card, I picked up my favorite Echo Park Papers and tried my hands at paper flowers :)
I am using Tiffany's Sketch TG007 (I made a small change for the placement of sentiment, I hope its OK :) ) This is also my entry for the All sorts week 92 - make your own flowers.

  Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!; paper: Echo Park; stamps: Mark's Finest Papers; ink: Momento (Black Tuxedo);

Yes, I did the frame thing again :) And aren't those flowers pretty (scroll down for my very first tutorial on these flowers, I did it just for you :) ) This is also my entry for the Indian Craft Room first event - celebrating womanhood which is to create a card based on the animated card and base it on ourselves. I love the idea and I think the card above is totally me. Bright and fun, who values friendships and enjoys in the nature :D.

And now here is my first ever video for all of you!! Please be gentle on me, I did make some silly mistakes but I am learning :) and will try to do a better job next time. I promise :)

If you know of any tips and tricks to make video tutorials better, please help me by sharing them!!

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

  11. Great card! One tip on your video. Try to sit down and have the video behind you and focused on your hands so that whatever you are doing is clear to those watching it. Sometimes it is better to have a voiceover so that simple instructions also can be included. Brave attempt and looking forward to more tutorials in the future! :) Good luck!

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

10 things I love about you..

...thats what I told my DH yesterday as it was our engagement anniversary. One year back on 16th of May, we got engaged and I wanted to gift him something special and different and that is when I stumbled upon Monicka Wright's blog and decided to case her wonderful note card. I took the colors from Smidapaper May Color Challenge, polka dot theme from Lawnscaping Challenge. And I am also playing along Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#56 - Get Sticky.

Supplies: papers: Echo Park Papers(For the Record);embellishment: Element stickers from Echo Park Springtime collection, Little Girl, For the Record, Walk in the Park, Twine from the twinery(charcoal)
I used one of my favorite Echo Park collection "For the Record" for this card and love the way it turned out. Added a little hand-stitching along the edges, embellished each tag with lot of elementary stickers from different Echo Park Collection and had the most fun writing those 10 things about DH. It made me fell so ble…

A year in review 2016 + Giveaway!

Hello,

As we step into the new year, I wanted to take a moment and reflect upon this past year which has been mostly amazing for me. 2016 was tremendous for me in terms of both professional and personal life. Yes, there were moments and events that I would not never like to experience again but today I just wanted to focus on the good and happy.

So today I am going to highlight my favourite projects and moments throughout this year. I also have a giveaway for you guys as a thank you for always being so supportive and appreciative. You always motivate me to do better and more.

I started year 2016 with this close-to-my-heart watercolor piece. This artwork is special because this was the first of the many! I fell in love with using stamps to build watercolor scenes and kept making them throughout the year.

This photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has so many lovely memories from our big family vacation this year. It was fun converting it into a watercolor piece. Also this …
