A yummy treat!!

Who's in for a treat? Do you have a sweet tooth? Are you craving some yummy cupcakes? If the answer to any of those questions is yes....you are at the right place :D because the card today is filled with some yummy yummy cupcakes. Enjoy!!

Do you remember my first feeble attempt at paper piecing? Well, I think I have matured since then (what?? cupcakes are for grown-ups too..aren't they? :D) and thought I would do something better and bigger with paper-piecing. I wanted to put a decent entry for the Paper Piecing Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and Laurel's Challenge at Yvonne's blog.

 Supplies: cardstock: Elle Erre Fabriano!, Paper: Echo Park (A walk in the park, Little Girl, Little Boy) ; stamps: Ippity(Cuppy Cakes); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black);

I kept the layout simple to let my paper-pieced cupcakes shine!! I also got a chance to catch up on some movies while doing all the fussy cutting so it was all gain and no loss :D. I am also entering this card for the All things Unity Challenge#26 - Birthday/Celebration theme and Simon says Stamp Challenge#-anything goes.

Do you like it? Do these cupcakes look yummy? Please let me know.

P.S. I still have one Ippity Cuppy Cakes Stamp set in stock. If you like, you can place an order by emailing me!

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!!

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

10 things I love about you..

...thats what I told my DH yesterday as it was our engagement anniversary. One year back on 16th of May, we got engaged and I wanted to gift him something special and different and that is when I stumbled upon Monicka Wright's blog and decided to case her wonderful note card. I took the colors from Smidapaper May Color Challenge, polka dot theme from Lawnscaping Challenge. And I am also playing along Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#56 - Get Sticky.

Supplies: papers: Echo Park Papers(For the Record);embellishment: Element stickers from Echo Park Springtime collection, Little Girl, For the Record, Walk in the Park, Twine from the twinery(charcoal)
I used one of my favorite Echo Park collection "For the Record" for this card and love the way it turned out. Added a little hand-stitching along the edges, embellished each tag with lot of elementary stickers from different Echo Park Collection and had the most fun writing those 10 things about DH. It made me fell so ble…

Gond Painting !!

Wishing you all a very happy holi !! Its a colorful spring festival celebrated here in India and I wish that it brings lots of happiness and good things in life for all of you!

And on this colorful occasion, I thought I'd share something different and something close to my heart with you all. I have been crafting right from when I was a little kid and I have always loved to explore different forms of art and craft one of which being the traditional folk art of India.

India has a very rich culture when it comes to art and off late I have been hooked to giving all different forms of folk art a try. After I tried my hands at Madhubani last year which is a folk art from the state of Bihar, I am now hooked to another tribal art form called Gond from the states of Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh)

I love the way these Gond Paintings look. They are simple and yet so detailed. Its all about filling in the everyday life motifs with dots, dashes and lines.
