Canvas Corp Crew Challenge : Valentine Cards!

Hello,

Today is a very very happy day as I share my first post as part of the Canvas Corp Design Crew! Canvas Corp Brands are so exciting and I am so looking forward to create an entire year with them :)

The challenge today is to create a Valentine Card and send it off to someone who isn't expecting it. Since I am giving it to someone who reads my blog, I am not gonna disclose it here :P

Onto my card, I created a mixed media style card with some amazing Tattered Angels mists and Canvas Corp Papers.

Yeah, I went crazy with those awesome mists :D

I love how it is full of texture and of course colour !

And I added a little handwritten sentiment as well :)

Here are the supplies I used to make this card,

Canvas Corp Card and Envelope 9"X4"
Canvas Corp Pattern Paper - Paris Hearts of Ivory
Tattered Angels Mists - Suede
Tattered Angels Mists - Bahama Blue
Tattered Angels Mists - Vintage Pink
Tattered Angels Mists - Cross My Heart
Tattered Angels High Impact Paint - White
Acrylic Paint - Permanent Rose
Sakura Model Paste
Faber Castell Brush
Faber Castell Multi Marker Black
Canvas Corp Twine
Charcoal Pencil

And here's how did it step by step

Cut the pattern paper to size. Using an old credit card apply modelling paste randomly on the pattern paper to add some texture. Let dry.

Once the texture paste is dry, spray on your favorite mists. It's ton of fun :)
Let dry.

Spray some more with a contrasting color to add more interest. Let dry.

Use High Impact Paint in white and the back of the brush to add some dots. Let dry.

Paint a free-style heart with thick acrylic paint. Don't dilute the paint and it will add to the texture. Let dry.

Add highlights to the heart and the edges of the paper using the marker and charcoal pencil. Smudge the marks along the way to soften them.

And then use a sticker, button and some twine to embellish. Use foam adhesive to adhere the pattern paper to the Canvas Corp Card base.

See easy peasy and awesome :)

Hope you have fun making your own Valentine Day card this year. Hop on to the Canvas Corp Blog to see what all the amazing team members have created for you. Also, there is a contest and you might stand to win a gift certificate. It's worth a visit, I tell you :)

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

10 things I love about you..

...thats what I told my DH yesterday as it was our engagement anniversary. One year back on 16th of May, we got engaged and I wanted to gift him something special and different and that is when I stumbled upon Monicka Wright's blog and decided to case her wonderful note card. I took the colors from Smidapaper May Color Challenge, polka dot theme from Lawnscaping Challenge. And I am also playing along Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge#56 - Get Sticky.

Supplies: papers: Echo Park Papers(For the Record);embellishment: Element stickers from Echo Park Springtime collection, Little Girl, For the Record, Walk in the Park, Twine from the twinery(charcoal)
I used one of my favorite Echo Park collection "For the Record" for this card and love the way it turned out. Added a little hand-stitching along the edges, embellished each tag with lot of elementary stickers from different Echo Park Collection and had the most fun writing those 10 things about DH. It made me fell so ble…

A year in review 2016 + Giveaway!

Hello,

As we step into the new year, I wanted to take a moment and reflect upon this past year which has been mostly amazing for me. 2016 was tremendous for me in terms of both professional and personal life. Yes, there were moments and events that I would not never like to experience again but today I just wanted to focus on the good and happy.

So today I am going to highlight my favourite projects and moments throughout this year. I also have a giveaway for you guys as a thank you for always being so supportive and appreciative. You always motivate me to do better and more.

I started year 2016 with this close-to-my-heart watercolor piece. This artwork is special because this was the first of the many! I fell in love with using stamps to build watercolor scenes and kept making them throughout the year.

This photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has so many lovely memories from our big family vacation this year. It was fun converting it into a watercolor piece. Also this …
