Acrylic Paintings on Canvas - Maruti Swift and Royal Enfield !

Hello,

I am so psyched with this project that I had to share them here. If you follow me on instagram (@ujjwal.handmadewithlove), you might have already seen them there.

One of my regular clients wanted something very unique and customised for a person who loves his bike and car and so we decided to paint the two on canvas with the actual number of the number plate.

She sent me the following photo references (Picture Credit Google) and asked to create something on these lines.

So I started with a basic sketch of the bike and the car. These were drawn free hand with a regular graphite pencil.

And then I first started with the bike filling in the mostly the black color. I had no plan as such as to how I will go about it.

After the black, I did the background first

And then I went with the greys and the whites to bring out all the details to make it look as close to the real thing as possible. Sorry about the difference in colors in the photos. The photos were taken on my phone and then tons of instagram filters happened because I couldn't resist :D

The one below are the true colors of the canvas!

I also added the actual number plate of the bike that the recipient of this canvas has. I removed it for privacy here.

The car turned out to be far more tricky than the bike, mostly because I didn't get the sketch right. My angles and proportions were off in the pencil sketch and I ended up paying for it by doing and redoing the whole thing.

So after a lot of changes, I managed to make it look somewhat like the original but there is so much room for improvement.

It was hard work but I loved working on them as painting is my first love. I might even go as far and say I'm a little bit proud of myself for painting these :D

I would love to hear what you think of them! Until next time :)

Diwali Wishes

Hello people!! The weekend is so near that it makes me happy already :D Finally I started on my Diwali cards for this year. I know I am terribly late but I am trying to make it up. For my readers who aren't aware of the Diwali festival, Diwali is known as the festival of lights and one of the biggest festivals in India signifying the victory of good over evil. This year we are celebrating Diwali on 5 November. We celebrate by decorating our houses, lighting candle, fireworks, lots of good food, and lots and lots of sweets (I love this part :D)

Okay now enough of blabbering, here is a card a made for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Perfectly Placed Pleats  and Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge - Stitching

Look how the paper pleats make for the cutest candles. Doesn't that stitched sentiment look pretty too?

After I made one and liked it, I went crazy experimenting with colors, size, and various different things :D
Here is another variations I came up with.

Hello,

As we step into the new year, I wanted to take a moment and reflect upon this past year which has been mostly amazing for me. 2016 was tremendous for me in terms of both professional and personal life. Yes, there were moments and events that I would not never like to experience again but today I just wanted to focus on the good and happy.

So today I am going to highlight my favourite projects and moments throughout this year. I also have a giveaway for you guys as a thank you for always being so supportive and appreciative. You always motivate me to do better and more.

I started year 2016 with this close-to-my-heart watercolor piece. This artwork is special because this was the first of the many! I fell in love with using stamps to build watercolor scenes and kept making them throughout the year.

This photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has so many lovely memories from our big family vacation this year. It was fun converting it into a watercolor piece. Also this …
